CORNWALL – It’s the time of year when many office Christmas parties are underway and other festivities.
Cornwall police are also hoping people choose another option to get home as they target drunk drivers this month as part of the force’s Traffic Action Plan.
Police plan to have targeted enforcement throughout the month, including RIDE spot checks.
If you’re caught drinking and driving, the minimum fine is a three day licence suspension with a maximum of losing your licence for life plus a jail sentence.
Roughly 2,000 people have been killed and 50,000 injured in Ontario through the actions of a drinking driver, said CCPS.
If you suspect a drunk driver, you’re urged to call 911.
