CORNWALL – One woman was taken to hospital after a two vehicle rear-end crash on Vincent Massey Drive Sunday afternoon.
Cornwall firefighters, police and paramedics were called to 2205 Vincent Massey Drive – just outside a local car dealership – around 3:15 p.m.
A Nissan Sentra and a Honda Civic had collided, sending the Civic down the embankment on the north side of the highway.
A Sentra with Quebec licence plates had extensive front-end damage while the Honda Civic with Ontario plates had rear-end and side damage.
The force of the crash deployed both front airbags in the Sentra.
The woman passenger was taken to hospital by ambulance as a precaution while the male driver was on scene talking with police.
Police said the two occupants in the Honda Civic – one wrapped in a blanket – were in good spirits despite the ordeal they had been through.
Vincent Massey Drive was down to one lane for roughly an hour while towing crews removed the Civic from the north ditch and the Sentra from the side of the road.
A police investigation is ongoing.
