CORNWALL – Two men are facing charges after a third was attacked with a hammer and kicked during a Saturday night encounter in the city.
Police said the attack happened in the area of Second and Amelia Streets where the victim, 23, was bashed several times with a hammer and was also kicked.
He was taken to hospital and treated for what are being described as minor injuries.
One man, 23, turned himself into police on Wednesday (Oct. 14) was charged with assault with a weapon and possession of a dangerous weapon. He was held for a bail hearing.
The second suspect, 25, was located by cops at his home the same day and charged with assault and breach of two probation orders for failing to keep the peace.
Investigators said the victim and his attackers knew each other.
