New Cornwall parks, recreation manager

CORNWALL – There’s a new manager for the city’s parks and recreation department.

The corporation announced Tuesday, James Fawthrop will be the new division manager of parks and recreation, transitioning into the new post in the next few weeks.

Fawthrop worked a decade with Genivar (formerly known as Thompson Rosemount Group) before joining the city in 2011 as a design and construction engineer.

He takes over for Christine Lefebvre, who retired this year.

Fawthrop is also very busy in the community, coaching minor hockey and lacrosse.

He has a wife, Kate, and two children, Dean and Carolyn.
