CORNWALL – The numbers are in and this year’s Terry Fox Run in Cornwall has raised over $20,000.

“I never set a goal – I always just want the community to do whatever they can to support the Terry Fox Foundation,” said organizer Josee Sauve as the final tally came in at $20,002.

“We didn’t beat last year’s total but I’m not disappointed. Last year, we had a single one-time personal donation of $5,000 – that doesn’t happen often! I am incredibly proud of Cornwall for pulling together and raising what we could for Terry,” she said.

The number of participants was – 358 – about the same as last year.

Sauve said the energy was palpable as people either ran for someone they know or just to help in research to find a cure for cancer.

The 36th edition will be held Sunday Sept. 18, 2016.
