SOUTH GLENGARRY – A young man is facing a dozen charges after police uncovered an ongoing case of domestic violence.
SD&G O.P.P. officers were called Tuesday morning to a home on Station Street for a report of a domestic situation between a man and his common-law wife.
Officers later learned this wasn’t the first time – the man had allegedly threatened and assaulted the female on a previous occasion and also damaged part of the home.
A man, 21, was arrested and charged with six counts of assault, three counts of assault with a weapon, two counts of mischief and a single count of uttering threats.
He was held in custody for a bail hearing in a Cornwall court.
Police did not release the name of the accused in order to protect the victim’s identity.
