CHESTERVILLE – A motorcyclist has died in a collision late Saturday afternoon just outside Chesterville.
SD&G O.P.P. say the biker was heading west on County Road 43 when there was a collision with a northbound SUV entering the highway at the intersection of County Road 7.
The preliminary investigation indicates the SUV had entered County Road 43 and collided with the motorcycle.
The crash happened just after 5 p.m.
The motorcycle rider – Ian Frost, 69, of Manotick Station – was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The female SUV driver – a 45-year-old woman from Brooklyn, N.Y. – and two young passengers were not injured, said police.
A section of County Roads 43 and 7 are still closed to traffic as investigators examine evidence and take measurements at the scene as part of their investigation.
Detours are in place.
Police say charges are pending.
