CORNWALL – You’ll have to endure the closure of Second Street West, west of Brookdale Avenue, for another week.

The street, which was closed May 25, was originally scheduled to be shut down two weeks to allow American Bridge Canada to remove the steel bridge structure over the road.

It was supposed to reopen Friday (June 5).

But ABC decided late last week to keep the road closed another week in order to take out the concrete bridge support on the southwest corner of Second Street West and Brookdale.

The company figured that doing it now would be better than closing the road again later this summer.

Second Street West, west of Brookdale, will now be closed until Monday June 15, subject to the weather.

If you have any questions or concerns you can contact American Bridge Canada at 613-932-0800.
