UCDSB run with a splash of colour helping students

CORNWALL – Schools in Cornwall and Brockville will be hosting families this weekend for the seventh annual “Lucky 7 Colour Run.”

The one and five kilometer runs will go through “a haze of erupting colour throughout the event.”

The event is collecting pledges for the Champions for Kids Foundation.

Saturday’s race in Cornwall starts at Gray’s Creek at 9 a.m. with registration. The five kilometer race starts at 10 a.m. and the one kilometer goes at 10:25 a.m.

The same times apply for Sunday when Brockville hosts the race at Memorial Park.

Pledges are $20 minimum for families, $10 for individuals and $50 for team pledges.

Champions for Kids is a confidential service formed in January 2008 by the Upper Canada District School Board to help disadvantaged children and their families to participate in sports, arts and other activities outside school hours.
