CORNWALL – A Quebec man is facing drug and weapons-related charges after an inspection at Cornwall’s border crossing.
City police say the 56-year-old from Saint-Hubert was arrested Friday after Canada Border Services Agency officers found marijuana and four long guns in a vehicle.
Cornwall police say there was no permit for the guns.
The man was charged with possession of marijuana, unauthorized possession of firearms and possession of firearms in a motor vehicle.
He was held for a bail hearing in a Cornwall court.
This seizure came in the same week as a multi-force police agency crackdown called Project Harden shut down a handgun trafficking ring, running out of Cornwall.
