Drug production facility shut down in South Glengarry

SOUTH GLENGARRY – Several O.P.P. forces have shut down a drug production facility in the township.

Members of Project Paradigm – which include the O.P.P. Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, the Drug Enforcement Unit and the Emergency Response Team – searched a home on Thursday.

They seized marijuana bud, cannabis resin, MDMA, cocaine and production equipment.

They also found a collapsible baton and mace at the scene.

The exact location of the drug production facility was not disclosed.

A 22-year-old South Glengarry man was arrested at the scene and is facing seven charges – three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, two counts of unauthorized possession of a weapon, and a single count each of production and possession of a controlled substance.

He was released with a promise to appear in court June 11.
