Man tasered outside Cornwall police station

CORNWALL – A dramatic scene at the east-end Cornwall police station ended with a knife-wielding man being tasered.

Police say it happened April 15 outside 330 Montreal Road after a guy, armed with a knife, threatened to kill two officers.

The force only released details of the incident today (Tuesday).

Investigators allege the man exited the station saying he was going to kill a woman he knew.

Officers followed him and, when the suspect refused to drop the knife, they tasered him.

After getting the suspect under control, he was released unconditionally.

Nine days later though a Cornwall man, 28, was charged with two counts of assault with a weapon, two counts of possession of a dangerous weapon, three counts of threats to life and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace.

He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
