Bat, knife used in South Dundas assault

SOUTH DUNDAS – Local O.P.P. have laid 10 charges in connection to a vicious assault at a home on County Road 31.

Police allege a man hit another man with a baseball bat and also pulled a knife during a fight around 2 a.m. Sunday.

The common-law spouse of the accused was also assaulted during the fight, police said.

The victim has non-life threatening injuries while the woman was not injured.

A South Dundas man, 31, was arrested and charged with two counts of assault with a weapon, two counts of possession of a dangerous weapon, and one count each of assault causing bodily harm, spousal assault, uttering threats and forcible confinement.

His name was withheld to protect the female victim’s identity.

He’s appearing in a Cornwall court today (Monday).
