LANCASTER – A pursuit across provincial lines ended in Lancaster with Ontario Provincial Police making an arrest.
SD&G O.P.P. say they were called Sunday afternoon to help out Quebec Provincial Police after their officers had tried to stop a stolen vehicle
The vehicle on Highway 20 in Quebec made it into Ontario on Highway 401 where O.P.P. responded.
The suspect vehicle was found on County Road 2 in South Lancaster after a single vehicle crash while the man driving fled on foot.
The O.P.P. Emergency Response Team and canine officers later arrested him without incident and turned the suspect and the vehicle over to Quebec officers.
Charged with failing to remain at the scene of a collision and driving a motor vehicle with no licence is a 32-year-old man from Chateauguay, Que.
The accused is also being investigated for possible criminal acts in Quebec.
