SYRACUSE, N.Y. – There’s a new trial date for a couple accused of kidnapping two Amish girls from a roadside in St. Lawrence County near the Canadian border.

Stephen Howells II, 39, and girlfriend Nicole Vaisey, 25, will be in a federal court June 22.

The two Amish sisters, ages seven and 12, were snatched from a farm stand in Heuvelton, south of Ogdensburg, N.Y. on Aug. 13, 2014.

The abduction triggered a massive search across the north country before they were found.

Howells faces 21 criminal charges and Vaisey faces 10 counts, which include conspiracy to sexually exploit children.

According to Time Warner Cable News, if the couple pleads guilty, they would be looking at 580- and 300-year sentences respectively for Howells and Vaisey.
