BROCKVILLE – A former teacher in Iroquois and Ingleside has received the 2015 Ted Kennedy Award for character.

Frank Hummell is the Upper Canada District School Board’s principal of student success and eLearning, a position he’s held since 2012.

Hummell received the administration award last week during a gathering of the Ontario Principals’ Council, recognizing his contribution to the school community as well as leadership and mentoring.

The award is named after Superintendent Ted Kennedy, who died in 2011.

During his 30 year career, Hummell has been a teacher at Seaway District High School and Rothwell-Osnabruck School. He was also principal at Char-Lan District High School, CCVS and T.R. Leger.
