CORNWALL – The Crown has dropped criminal charges against a local blogger.
During a court appearance today (Tuesday) the Crown withdrew charges of criminal harassment and threats to life against Jamie Ghilcig.
A court official tells Cornwall Newswatch a brief statement was read by the Crown before the charges were withdrawn.
Ghilcig, 50, had been charged in February 2014 after allegations by Michael Bedard, 31, of Cornwall about harassing phone calls and emails.
Court records show a Section 810 Criminal Code application involving South Stormont Deputy Mayor Tammy Hart, were also withdrawn by the Crown.
