CORNWALL – The following is a release from Mike O’Neil, spokesman for the United Counties Science Fair Committee, on their winners on the weekend:

On Saturday April 11th 2015, the United Counties Science Fair awarded approximately ten thousand dollars in prize money and awards, scholarships, and trips. The 40th United Counties Science fair welcomed over a hundred students from nineteen schools in the region. These students completed over seventy projects that were judged by forty seven volunteers from the community who dedicated their time to interact with these youth as they described their projects.

Gabriel Valin of L’Heritage, Samantha Peets and Jeremy Mallette of St. Joe’s and Michelle Journeaux of Glengarry District High School will represent our region at the Canada Wide Science Fair in Fredericton, New Brunswick from May 10th to 17th. The national fair brings together over 400 projects by 500 finalists from across Canada who will be vying for awards, medals, scholarships and trips valued at over one million dollars.
