CORNWALL – Cornwall has its new fire chief.

The city announced Wednesday that Pierre Voisine has been chosen as the new fire chief to replace the retiring Richard McCullough.

The Rockland native is excited at the prospect of working with the Cornwall Fire Department team.

Voisine brings more than 20 years experience in firefighting and management to the table.

He most recently served as Deputy Canadian Forces Fire Marshal, serving with the Canadian Forces and the Department of National Defence.

His resume includes writing for various trade publications, he’s received the Fire Service Exemplary Service Medal and a commendation for excellence from DND.

Voisine officially starts his new job on April 27 but before that he will work with McCullough through a transition period.

He has a wife, Julie, and two children.
