Cornwall woman faces 14 charges after scuffle with officers

CORNWALL – A alcohol-fueled scuffle with Cornwall police officers has led to 14 charges against a city woman.

Police were called Sunday after an assault and caught a woman drunk behind the wheel on Second Street West at Brookdale Avenue.

In their attempts to arrest her, the officers accuse to woman of resisting them as well as kicking and spitting on them and damaging property.

As for the assault call, officers later learned another woman’s hair was pulled and the victim had been struck in the face.

Police also seized cocaine and marijuana during the traffic stop.

The woman, 19, is facing four counts of assaulting police, three counts of breach of recognizance and a single count each of impaired driving, assault, mischief, resisting arrest, causing a disturbance, possession of cocaine and possession of marijuana.

She was held for a bail hearing.
