SD&G – From ploughs to pumpkins, a mix of summer, fall and winter has put SD&G on the provincial map.

Festivals and Events Ontario has named four SD&G attractions as part of its 2015 Top 100 Festivals and Events – those events that excel in the tourism industry.

The Glengarry Highland Games in Maxville (July 31 – Aug. 1), the International Plowing Match and Rural Expo in Finch (Sep. 22-26), Pumpkinferno at Upper Canada Village in Morrisburg (Oct. 1 – Nov. 1) and Alight at Night at Upper Canada Village (Dec. 5 – Jan. 2) were selected.

The plowing match is also in a select group of Festivals and Events of Distinction that have a long tradition and history in Ontario.

The events were picked by a panel of judges from submissions last fall.

The official awards will be given out Friday during the Festival and Events Ontario’s annual conference in Niagara Falls.
