INGLESIDE – That’s a lot of denim!
Students across the region from Upper Canada District School Board schools have collected over 400 pairs of jeans to help homeless youth.
The project, spearheaded by a national clothing retailer, was led by Ingleside-based student trustee Shayla Kroeze.
“It shocked me when I found out just how many homeless people are youth,” Kroeze said. “In fact, one in five people experiencing homelessness is under the age of 25.”
The jeans will be dropped off at the store’s drop-off center.
