AKWESASNE, Que. – The body of a second snowmobiler has been found.
The body of Kirk Ransom was found in the St. Lawrence River during a search Sunday afternoon, according to WPTZ-TV.
Searchers were using underwater cameras to aid in the search for Ransom – one of two snowmobile operators who perished in the icy waters on Sunday Feb. 15.
The body of Brandon Sweeting, 26, was found on the ice shortly after the tragedy on Lac St. Francois, where the mouth of the Salmon River meets the St. Lawrence.
The two men from Akwesasne were out snowmobiling when their machines hit open water.
