SOUTH GLENGARRY – A Quebec man was arrested and charged with impaired driving and drug possession.
SD&G O.P.P. responded to a call early Sunday morning about a vehicle driving erratically on Highway 401 in South Glengarry.
The call resulted in the arrest of a 36-year-old man from Lachine, Quebec, who was allegedly driving drunk.
Police say the suspect became aggressive with the officers during the investigation when they uncovered marijuana, cannabis resin, crack cocaine and sum of cash.
He is being charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, three counts possession of a controlled substance, resisting a peace officer, driving while impaired, driving with over 80 milligrams of alcohol in the blood, possession of property obtained by crime and driving with an open container of alcohol in the vehicle.
His two 23-year-old passengers are also being charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a controlled substance and possession of property obtained by crime
The driver and one passenger have been held in custody, while the other passenger was released and scheduled to appear in court in Alexandria on March 4, 2015.
