CORNWALL – A Cornwall River Kings fan overcame seemingly impossible odds to win $25,000 Saturday night.

During the second intermission, Rodney Rivette shot a puck from the far blue line and got it through a small hole in a board set up in net at the opposite end the arena.

Rivette threw both arms up, hockey stick still in hand, and celebrated as the crowd celebrated his victory in the “Jenni MacDonald – Dominion Lending $25,000 Shot.”

The celebration wasn’t as loud though for the River Kings as they fell 5-3 to Trois-Rivieres.

Marc-Andre Huot scored four times to lead the Blizzard to victory.

The River Kings are on the road next weekend when games in Jonquiere on Friday night and Riviere-du-Loup on Saturday night.
