Teenagers arrested after knife fight

CORNWALL – Two 14-year-olds were arrested and charged with assault with a weapon after a weekend knife fight.

The two youths – one from Cornwall and the other from Akwesasne – were both allegedly drunk at the time of the assault on Sunday. The youths, who police say were known to each other, assaulted each other with a knife.

One of the teens was charged with assault, assault with a weapon, possession of a dangerous weapon, failure to comply with a youth probation order, and two counts of breach of an undertaking.

The other teen was charged with assault, assault with a weapon, and possession of a dangerous weapon.

Police say both parties sustained minor injuries and will appear in court at a later date.

Their names have been withheld under provisions in the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
