Two charged after shots fired in St. Regis

AKWESASNE, Que. – Two men are facing charges after reports of a shooting in the village of Kana:takon in St. Regis, Que.

Akwesasne Mohawk Police received a call around 5 p.m. Sunday of someone firing shots at a vehicle.

Police cordoned off sections of First Street and Park Street in the village for two hours as a precaution before making the arrests of two men.

The two accused, 29 and 31 years old, are each facing a charge of discharging a firearm with intent and are appearing in a Valleyfield, Que. court.
