River Kings’ Cloutier gone to Laval in six player deal

CORNWALL – Cornwall River Kings’ fan favourite Chris Cloutier, along with two other players, have been sent to Laval.

The blockbuster trade announced Monday afternoon will also see defenceman Mathieu Leduc and Philippe Pepin go to the Predators.

Laval gets a ninth round draft pick in the deal.

In exchange, Cornwall gets veteran enforcers Curtis Tidball, Manuel Frechette, Mathieu Brisson and a 2015 seventh round draft pick.

“We made a promise to our fans in the off-season that we wouldn’t be pushed around in our own barn,” said General Manager Rick Lalonde. “We’ve addressed that now with this blockbuster deal.”

“We’d like to than Chris (Cloutier) for what he’s done four our hockey club and wish him the best in Laval.”

Cornwall just came off a 5-3 win at home against Laval on Saturday.
