SD&G – While we’ve already had our taste of winter weather, the official winter season didn’t arrive until Sunday.

The winter solstice arrived at 6:03 p.m.

The good news – this is the day with the least amount of daylight (approximately 8 hours and 43 minutes), also making it the longest night of the year.

The amount of daylight will get progressively longer as we head to spring.

The bad news – the spring equinox is a ways off. It won’t be here until March 20 at 4:57 p.m.

Unless you’re a winter lover, then you’ll be rejoicing for the next three months.
