CORNWALL – City councillor Brock Frost says he intends to file a civil lawsuit Monday against website operator Jamie Gilcig for defamation of character.

Frost says his statement of claim will be seeking $14,982.75 in damages from a lost real estate deal, plus $25,000 in punitive damages.

It comes after Gilcig put up a blog posting Saturday about Frost’s alleged involvement a real estate deal in Nicaragua in 2009, though it’s not been stated when the alleged defamatory comments were made.

Gilcig has told The Seeker he is waiting to hear back from his legal representation before responding, according to the paper.

None of the allegations have been proven in court.
