South Dundas council to be sworn in

MORRISBURG – The new South Dundas mayor and council will be sworn in to office.

The inaugural meeting of the sixth council for the Municipality of South Dundas starts at 7 p.m. Tuesday night at the municipal office at 34 Ottawa Street.

Rev. Clarence Witten is scheduled to deliver the invocation.

Then, Mayor-elect Evonne Delegarde, Deputy Mayor-elect Jim Locke and councillors-elect Bill Ewing, Archie Mellan and Marc St. Pierre will recite the oaths of office.

Delegarde, who defeated Steven Byvelds by 1,500 votes in the Oct. 27 municipal election, will then deliver her inaugural address.
