CORNWALL – A large section of the Rotary Traffic Circle here remained cordoned off with police tape overnight after an early evening stabbing.

Cornwall firefighters, police and paramedics were called to the front lawn of the Ramada just after 7 p.m. for a wounded male lying in the grass at the edge of Brookdale Avenue.

The Seaway News quotes a source saying the male died in hospital just a few hours after the attack.

Northbound traffic on Brookdale Avenue is being redirected to Seventh Street and the southbound lanes of Brookdale are closed at Ninth Street.

At least three police cruisers were at the scene at 12 a.m. Thursday securing the scene.
