CORNWALL – The president of St. Lawrence College is applauding a move to allow students working on their business diploma to transfer credits.
Ontario’s two dozen colleges signed an agreement which allows students to get credit for courses they already took and completed when they move to another college for the same program.
“Post-secondary students who transfer to another institution shouldn’t have to repeat courses they have already completed,” said Glenn Vollebregt, President and CEO of St. Lawrence College.
Vollebregt believes it will eliminate duplication and cut costs for students.
This move is part of Ontario government’s $73.7 million plan for credit-transfer improvements between 2011 and 2016.
