Sharks bite down on silver

OAKVILLE, Ont. – The St. Lawrence College men’s hockey team has come away with a silver medal at the Sheridan College Invitational on Tuesday.

The Sharks played five games in eight hours.

Cornwall beat Sheridan College but lost to Trent University in the first round.

The Sharks then beat McMaster University in the quarter-finals and Seneca College in the semi-finals.

The deciding game saw the Sharks lose 3-2 in overtime to Conestoga College, as the Condors scored with a man-advantage after Cornwall got a penalty.

“Tough way to end the gold medal game,” said co-head coach, Sean Boulerice.

“Proud of how the boys came back twice to force overtime. We were not outplayed by any means.”

The Sharks are now off on winter break and will next play at the St. Lawrence College Brockville Invitational on Jan. 9.
