Remembrance Day: what’s open and closed

CORNWALL – A Remembrance Day ceremony will start at 11 a.m. this morning at Cornwall’s cenotaph at Memorial Park at the corner of Second and Bedford.

As a safety precaution for participants, city police closed portions of Second, York, Bedford and Timothy Streets at 10 a.m.

They will be reopened following the end of the ceremony.

Because it’s Remembrance Day, you will find city, United Counties and SD&G township government offices closed today.

In Cornwall, there are no changes to garbage and recycling collection and recreation centers will be operating on a normal schedule, however, the Civic Complex office will be closed.

Cornwall Transit is running on its normal schedule but the administration office is closed.

All banks are closed today.

Canada Post also has the day off and there is also no mail delivery Tuesday.

LCBO and Beer Store outlets will open at 12 p.m. and will remain open under normal business hours.
