SOREL-TRACY, Que. – The Cornwall River Kings weren’t able to beat the Sorel-Tracy Eperviers, falling 6-2 Friday night.
Sasha Pokulok and Julien Corriveau scored for Cornwall.
The River Kings have been struggling, winning two of their last seven games.
Sorel-Tracy outshot Cornwall 41-29.
The River Kings are next in action on Saturday night when they host Jonquiere. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m. at the Ed Lumley Arena.
The River Kings management is also inviting first responders (police, fire, EMS) and military personnel to enjoy the game for free, in light of the tragedy in Ottawa this week.
“The tragedy that occurred at Parliament Hill was shameful, full of hate, and meant to create fear in our country,” said River Kings owner Brock Frost. “The men and women who protect us did their job and I for one am forever grateful.”
There will be a moment of silence before the puck drop.
