River Kings lose home opener

CORNWALL – The Cornwall River Kings lost their home opener Friday night to the Laval Predators. The final score was 10-4. (LNAH.com had earlier reported the score as 11-4 but that has since been corrected)

Laval’s Alexandre Imbeault spoiled Cornwall’s party, leading with four goals on the night.

The River Kings’ Antony Courcelles opened the scoring at the Civic Complex and had a hat trick during the game.

But after his initial goal 1:11 into the first, Laval dominated the rest of the evening.

Laval outshot Cornwall 41-31.

There were 2,873 in attendance at the Ed Lumley Arena.

The River Kings are back in action Sunday at 4 p.m. when they visit Trois-Rivieres.
