Charge laid after man struck on County Road 2

LONG SAULT, Ont. – An elderly man is facing a Highway Traffic Act charge after a pickup truck hit a parked flatbed trailer and a bystander on County Road 2. The accident happened on Monday last week (September 8), just east of Long Sault. Police say a Dodge pickup truck slammed into a heavy equipment flatbed trailer, parked on the side of the road. Fifty-five-year-old Allan Robinson of South Stormont was also hit during the collision. He was last reported to be recovering from life-threatening injuries.

Eighty-year-old Donald MacAllister is facing a Highway Traffic Act charge of careless driving. He will appear in provincial court in Cornwall on October 14.
