LONG SAULT, Ont. – A middle-aged man is clinging to life in a Cornwall hospital after a crash on County Road 2 just east of Long Sault. SD&G O.P.P. say the 55-year-old man from South Stormont was standing next to a truck with a flat-bed trailer on the north side of the highway when a westbound pick-up truck hit the trailer and him around 10:30 a.m. yesterday morning. The victim was taken to hospital by ambulance with life-threatening injuries. The condition of the driver of the Dodge pick-up, an 81-year-old man from South Stormont, is not known. Police closed a section of County Road 2 from County Road 15 to Milles Roches Rd. for roughly eight hours for an investigation. So far no charges have been laid.
