CORNWALL, Ont. – A convicted sex offender is back living in Cornwall. Cornwall Police Chief Dan Parkinson has issued a public safety alert about 67-year-old William Robert Gates. He was recently released after serving nine months in prison for possession of child pornography. Parkinson says Gates will be living in the city and the Cornwall Community Police Service is advising people to be cautious. Gates is 5’11”, 160 lbs., with short gray hair and hazel eyes. Police say they will be closely monitoring Gates during his conditional release.
