Charge withdrawn in Project Cardiff

CORNWALL – A drug-related charge has been dropped against one of the 10 people arrested this summer in a wide-scale police raid.

Calvin Zeron, 25, of South Stormont had been charged with one count of possession of less than 30 grams of marijuana.

In early August, Project Cardiff saw a number of O.P.P. units raid homes in Cornwall, South Stormont and South Dundas, including Zeron’s home on County Road 15 in South Stormont.

They seized drugs and weapons.

Court documents show that charge against Zeron was withdrawn at the request of the Crown on Nov. 8, 2016 during a court appearance for the ten people arrested.

No explanation is given for why the charge was dropped.

The other accused in the sting will make an appearance in Cornwall remand court on Dec. 6.

One of the accused will make an appearance before that on Nov. 22 to deal with a legal aid matter.
