SD&G – Up to nearly a week of hot and sticky weather is expected across the Seaway Valley.
Environment Canada issued a heat warning Friday morning (July 11).
It says the hot and humid conditions will last “possibly to Thursday.”
Daytime highs are expected to be 29 to 32 degrees (84 to 90 Fahrenheit) and with the humidity it will feel more like 35 to 40 (95 to 104 Fahrenheit).
The hottest day is expected to be Saturday with a forecast high of 32 with a humidex of 40.
There will be little relief from the heat as overnight lows are expected to be 19 to 23 degrees.
The Eastern Ontario Health Unit also put out an advisory to the public urging them to take precautions.
The Ontario SPCA suggests it’s best to leave your pets at home during a heat wave as the temperature inside a parked car can reach life-threatening levels in a matter of minutes.
