SD&G – Some intense thunderstorm activity could hit Cornwall and SD&G today (June 27).

Environment Canada issued an advisory and says a low pressure system will move through the area bringing heavy rainfall and thunderstorms this afternoon and tonight.

Between 30 and 50 millimeters (1.18-1.96 inches) of rain is expected.

For Cornwall, the forecast is calling for 5-10 millimeters today (0.19-0.39 inches) and another 10-20 millimeters (0.39-0.78 inches) tonight.

It appears the low pressure system will do little to quell the hot weather as the forecast calls for highs in the middle to upper 20s through Thursday next week, not including the humidity factor.
