CORNWALL – Burton Ward captured the checkered flag in the first round of the 2025 DIRTcar pro-stock series at Cornwall Motor Speedway Sunday night.

The 50-lap race experienced a few cautions after a spinout by Devin Camenga and some late-race restarts, however race officials say Ward stayed composed through the action and was able to hold the lead in the final laps to secure the victory.

Bryno Cyr finished second and Ian Bressett was third.

In other action, Louis Jackson Jr. won the 358 modifieds, Donovan Lussier took the sportsman feature, Garin Thompson won the 15-lap sportsman novice feature and Travis Lamarche took the mini-stock.

In the Eastern Ontario Vintage Club feature, Randy Gaudet won the 70s-80s class while Xavier Perrin took the 50s-60s division.
