ST. ANDREWS WEST – A farming tragedy, north of Cornwall, is being investigated by the Ontario Ministry of Labour.
SD&G OPP, Cornwall-SDG Paramedic Services and South Stormont firefighters were called to a farm on County Road 18 (Dundas Street), between Black River Road and Valade Road, on the morning of Saturday, Dec. 3.
There they found a worker had died of injuries involving a combine harvester.
A Ministry of Labour spokeswoman told Cornwall Newswatch an inspector has been assigned to the case.
Because of the ongoing investigation, the ministry was not able to elaborate on the circumstances around the person’s death or their identity.
