CORNWALL – A driver from Gatineau, Que. is facing charges after a pedestrian was hit in downtown Cornwall Tuesday afternoon.
City police say the pedestrian was hit near Pitt Street and Second Street around 1 p.m.
“The driver is further alleged to have fled the scene and police were able to locate the vehicle shortly thereafter,” Cornwall Police Service spokeswoman Stephanie MacRae told Cornwall Newswatch.
The man who was hit was taken to hospital by paramedics. Police do not know the extent of his injuries.
Nicholas Ladouceur, 24, of Gatineau, Que is charged with dangerous driving causing bodily harm and failing to remain at the scene of an accident.
He will appear in a Cornwall court Jan. 26, 2023.
