LONG SAULT – Provincial police have laid more charges in connection to a historical sexual assault case in North Stormont.
A 48-year-old South Stormont man had initially been charged in December after a one month investigation into allegations of “historical sexual assault on several minors.”
Police announced today (May 10) that the same accused was arrested two weeks ago and is facing three more charges in another alleged assault related to the same investigation.
The 48-year-old is facing additional counts of sexual assault, sexual interference and common assault, bringing the total number of charges to 13.
He will appear in court June 1.
Police say there is no risk to public safety.
They did not release his name in order to protect the identity of the victims.
