ALEXANDRIA – North Glengarry says it’s received full funding to put a new heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system into the Maxville arena.

The $490,600 grant comes from an Ontario Trillium Foundation for the arena section of the Maxville & District Sports Complex on Fair Street.

The township says the HVAC system will allow the facility to be used more in the off-season, especially in the warmer months of April to August.

Mayor Jamie MacDonald says they want to see township recreational facilities “used to their full potential.”

The grant covers the HVAC system and engineering, which North Glengarry council has already awarded the contract and work has started.

Construction is expected to happen this summer.
