SD&G – Students looking at a return to the classroom after hitting the books online since the winter break will have to wait at least one more day.
With a winter storm hitting the region, school buses are cancelled Monday across SD&G.
Student Transportation of Eastern Ontario has cancelled all buses in SD&G for the Upper Canada District School Board and Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario schools.
Operations Manager Marc Gosset announced the cancellation in an email to media outlets around 7:25 p.m. Sunday.
In a late Sunday night decision, the UCDSB and CDSBEO decided to close schools as well.
As of 9:20 p.m. Sunday, the French transportation consortium indicated its buses are cancelled for all regions too.
A winter storm warning is in effect with up to 40 centimeters (16 inches) of snow expected by the by the storm passes later today.
This is second weather related school bus cancellation of the season.
Students have been doing remote learning since Jan. 5 due to the spread of the COVID-19 Omicron variant.
