CORNWALL – The Eastern Ontario Health Unit will wrap up its mass vaccination clinics by the end of next month.

The EOHU says roughly 16,000 people who have second dose appointments on or after Aug. 28 will need to reschedule their appointment through the provincial portal.

The health unit says it’s discontinuing the clinics because of “ample vaccine supply and accelerated second dose appointments.”

You have to wait at least 28 days after your first shot to be able to get your second dose of Pfizer or Moderna vaccine. For AstraZeneca, it’s eight weeks.

Another alternative is walk in clinics at the Benson Center in Cornwall on Saturday and the JR Brisson Arena in Casselman on Sunday. Both are 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with no walk-ins during the lunch hour.
